Mike and I both met Bill at our local mall about
13 years ago. We had just lost Blanche and we had a hole in our hearts that needed to be filled. There was an
organization that took in cats and placed them in foster homes until they could find their forever homes. We saw her
and could not believe how much she looked like Buzz. We found out that she was an American cat (we lived in a border
city) and that she had been shot. She was taken to a vet who had saved her and then she had found herself across the
border being looked after by this wonderful organization. She has never weighed more than 9 lbs and we believe
it was because her growth was stunted due to the trauma she received when she was so young. She agreed
to come home with us that day.

...Most handsome male pet.... |
Kobi came into our lives recently. Kobi
was bought by an older couple who had found him at a local pet store. When they took him to the vet, they were advised
that "Whiskey" (his previous name) would be over 75 lbs. The older couple lived in a trailer park and knew that they
would be unable to keep him. They were going to try to sell him in the local newspaper but they misunderstood
what they were told by the paper. They thought that the add would not get published for at least 2 weeks. Bless
their hearts, they decided that it would be unfair to Kobi to become to attached to them and then change his home.
The dropped him off to the local shelter. I happened to walk in one Saturday an noticed him right away. They were
keeping him in the kitchen area and not in one of the kennels. After visiting with the other furbabies I thought I would
ask some questions about Kobi but overheard someone else asking about him and the response was that he had already been adopted.
I told Mike about him when I got home. Mike had once seen a pup who was looked very much like Kobi and Mike was in awe of
that pup. It just happened that the following Saturday, Mike and I were driving around and we decided to drop
into the rescue. When I walked in the first thing I saw was Kobi. I pointed him out to Mike and then asked the
shelter employees why Kobi was still there. They said that the people who adopted him, had not come back and that they
had phoned them and left a message saying that if they did not pick him up that day they could not have him. Their
loss ...because Kobi became a member of our family later that day. I believe it was fate. Kobi was not supposed
to be there when I went back the second time...yet there he was.
